The Emmys: Part III - Reality

You may be asking what I'm writing about after reading the title... Check out my previous blog entries regarding The Emmys to find out!

It's time for the reality-related categories... (As you know, I'm not a huge reality fan, so this ought to be interesting!)

Outstanding Host For a Reality or Reality-Competition Program

  • Ryan Seacrest - American Idol
  • Tom Bergeron - Dancing with The Stars
  • Heidi Klum - Project Runway
  • Jeff Probst - Survivor
  • Phil Keoghan - The Amazing Race
  • Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio - Top Chef
I've never seen Top Chef, and I saw a few episodes of Survivor and The Amazing Race way back in the day. I've just started watching Project Runway, and I've seen a handful of episodes of American Idol. Dancing with The Stars is one of my favorite shows, as you know, so my vote is for Tom Bergeron! He's hilarious and quite entertaining throughout the show. Plus, he's hosted countless other shows, including Hollywood Squares and America's Funniest Home Videos. He deserves this Emmy!

Who Should Win: Tom Bergeron (Dancing with The Stars)
Last Year's Winner: Jeff Probst (Survivor)

Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
  • American Idol
  • Dancing with The Stars
  • Project Runway
  • The Amazing Race
  • Top Chef
Rather than be redundant, I'm just going to say that I want Dancing with The Stars to win this year because it's a highly entertaining show! (For more of an explanation, please see my previous blog entry dedicated to this year's line-up of celebrities, as well as what I wrote above.)

Who Should Win: Dancing with The Stars
Last Year's Winner: The Amazing Race

Whew! That was easy! I'm glad that those are the only two categories because, in my opinion, reality shows shouldn't be garnering a lot of award attention anyway. HaHa!
