Viva Las Vegas

Tomorrow, I will be heading to Las Vegas for a four-day, three-night vacation with my girlfriend, Rhiannon, and three ladies who I have the pleasure of working with each day: Janet, Mary, and Becky. We are bound to have a fantastic time, as it is hard not to have a good time in Las Vegas! This'll be my third time there, and each time gets better and better.

Our flight leaves at 09:50 AM, and we land in Las Vegas at 12:00 PM. (Mind you, the wonderful flight is around five hours long with a time change... I'm dreading that part!) We don't really have a set itinerary, which will prove to be interesting, since I like to have a structured idea of what is going to take place... :-) We're staying at Excalibur on The Strip, which is a super-nice place and pictured above; I stayed there in February 2008. The best part is that we got our rooms for SUPER CHEAP: $28 a night! That's unheard of in Las Vegas, especially at a hotel on The Strip!

What I do know is that on Tuesday, August 11, at 07:30 PM, so many of my dreams will come true. I'll be seeing Bette Midler's The Showgirl Must Go on for the second time. This time, though, it'll be from the front row, I'll be receiving an autographed program, and I'll get to meet The Divine Miss M. after the show, where I'll receive a picture of the two of us together. Holy crap! This has been something that I've dreamed about for so long, and I can't believe that it's actually happening. Thanks to Rhiannon, who purchased the Smug Mutha package for me to enjoy! (She got herself one, too, so she gets to partake in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!)

Luckily, for me, I'll get to see The Showgirl Must Go on two nights in a row! On Wednesday, we'll be seeing it again with Janet. (We purchased those tickets months ago!) The funny thing is... Seeing her show two nights in a row is another dream of mine. Amazing!

Aside from all of the above dreams-coming-true stuff, we will, of course, enjoy the sights and attractions that Las Vegas has to offer. From the amazingly beautiful casinos to the little treasures that are housed in almost all of the hotels, we will try to see it all! We'll most likely spend one day going down one side of The Strip and go down the other side another day. Of course, there will be gambling; however, I'm not a heavy gambler, so I'll park myself at the penny slots and enjoy myself for about thirty minutes... Just enough time to get a free drink or two.

One of the best, if not the best, attractions is Madame Tussauds at The Venetian. It's the best place for terrific photo opportunities with your favorite celebrities! As you'll see, Rhiannon and I, along with my best friend, Sarah, have had a blast there! Here are a few of my favorites from past trips:

I'm hoping to post an entry each day while on vacation. However, I make no promises. Be ready for a detailed account of each day, for sure, with plenty of pictures when I return. We leave Las Vegas on Thursday, August 13 at 03:20 PM and will land at 11:10 PM. I'll post on Friday sometime... :-)
